With plans and maps throughout. Binding very clean and square. Leaves darkened with some foxing to the endpapers and very occasional spots to internally. Despite the contents containing the relatively common Baedeker's Rhine, this unusual copy is housed in a dummy binding titled 'Baedecker's Madagascar' at the spine and front cover: a Baedeker travel guidebook which never existed. Prior to both World Wars, prospective editions were abandonned. This could well have been a publisher's dummy, or perhaps a sales sample? There's the possibilty that it was produced as a prop for the film industry, but the acuracy of the blocking to the binding suggests a Baedeker production. A bibliographical unicorn.
