I was skeptical of how these would work. I have arthritis in both hands, and its worst in the thumbs. Opening a pull top can of pet food or canned fish can be both painful AND problematic, if the can doesn’t want to pull easily.I looked at what seemed to be more expensive versions of the same thing, only with some rubber on them for antiskid. And everyone said the rubber came off and had to be reglued. Nope.So I got a two pack of these, since that wasn’t much more than one of them. Less than 10 dollars.I thought pushing up the tab would be less convenient than using a finger, but it really isn’t. Do it twice and I could do 3 cans in 5 seconds.Levering the can open worked…great…with one caveat. There may be some skill to it that I haven’t mastered yet. When the can is nearly off, I have to put it down over the trash can because the moment the lid comes free, it flies off in a random direction, but holding it over the trash results in it going in every time? I’ll keep practicing on the “dismount”. In any case, the really hard part of getting it started is made simple due to basic leverage, and the “cam” action of the J hook puts all of the minimal effort on your wrists.Highly recommended for anyone like me that needs a bit of help with some basic chores. Well worth the $.
